Miss Black Ohio USA

Hey everyone!!! I had the honor and privilege to be the judges chairperson for the Miss Black Ohio USA and Miss Black Ohio USA Talented Teen pageant on Sunday, Aug. 15!! I have always judged before, but to be the chairperson was such an honor...I had the chance to pass on my knowledge to the other judges about judging and some tips on how to score. :) The ladies competed in talent, on-stage question, on-stage platform statement, fitness, and the elegant evening wear. They all looked so beautiful and all the ladies did a wonderful job! It was great to see their progress from the time I taught the walking/posing class a few months ago, until now when they graced the stage! I'm so proud that they took what I said and applied it!! Sorry I don't have any pictures, but if you want to compete next year or check out the ladies from this year you can go to:

Saturday..Finals!!

Saturday night was finals! They combined the Miss and Teens...so we got to practice all together and hang out with the teens, we haven't seen them all week, so it was awesome to hang out for a few hours! We had a combined rehearsals...all day Friday! We had to practice in the lobby of the theater because the power went out the night before because of a thunder storm and they were working on the getting it back on since 4:30am! Good thing the power didn't go out in the hotel!! Since the power went out, we got a chance to sit down and talk about why we were in pageants and hear other girls stories...and that was awesome!! I called it the "sister circle"! :)

Finals went great for Jessica (Teen Ohio Int'l) she was crowned Miss Teen International 2009! I didn't make Top 10, but I feel I did great and I wouldn't go back and change anything I did! I made some great friends that I will be visiting soon!!! :)

It's Friday!!

My hair is done, my nails are done...and I have two eyebrows!! haha I can't believe it's Friday already!!! I leave in 3 days...and lets just say Tiffany isn't packed yet....sort of close, but not really! Did some last min. shopping to refill make-up and hair needs and preparing for Chicago to be a little humid, we all know what that does to my hair...its a hot mess! lol I've been keeping in touch with the girls I'll be in Chicago and they all seem so sweet! I can't wait to spend a week with them!!! :)

I still don't have my fun fashion or my opening number back yet, but hopefully tomorrow! That is stressing me out a tad, but I had really good homemade Mexican food..and that made everything better!! :) I still feel like I'm prepared, but not. It like a smorgasbord (if that is how you spell it! lol) of emotions, but when I get to Chicago I will feel good!

Keep checking back because I will be updating the week I'm in Chicago!! :) xoxo
